5000 tweets

I hit Twitter milestone today: 5,000 tweets. Long ago, I thought people who had more than 5,000 tweets on their timelines were either compulsive or spammers. Now I realize that it's not an exceptionally large amount -- from time to time I see timelines with more than 100,000 tweets, and I follow more than a few people who will tweet every ten minutes (if they are able).

An interesting fact: I began Tweeting on @ilamont in April 2007, a little more than five years ago. But it took me 2.5 years to get to the first 1,000 tweets. It took a little more than 2.5 years to cover the next 4,000. Note also that I am tweeting in several locations now (although my second-most active account, @invantory, only has 459 tweets). I have about four or five other accounts that I rarely use, too.
